Merry Christmas :)

What a great Christmas!! :). What made it even better was that it was mine and Dallas's first Christmas as a married couple! We both got so spoiled this year. We both did pretty dang good shopping for each other, not gonna lie! And my in laws and parents did a pretty dang awesome job as well. I just love Christmas. It really brings out the good side in people. Dallas and I love the Holidays and just being together to share it makes it even better. He is so amazing and I'm so lucky to have him. He makes me into a better person everyday and I am so blessed because of it. I can't wait to share an eternity of Christmas's with him and our future family. I'm so grateful for my little family. Dallas is so wonderful and our little puppy just keeps life interesting for us. We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year.

Here are a few pictures from Christmas :)

Creative Chi

So a few things to catch up on! I channeled my creative side this week. :). Which doesn't happen very often so excuse me while I pat myself on the back! haha. I made some Christmas tea lights and a cute box for them to go inside. And then I made a cute little calendar! Here's some pictures!

These are actually pretty easy to do. You just get tissue paper that you use for presents and cut them into little circles and put your choice of stamp on them. Poke a little hole in them for the wick to go through and then you put a hot blower on it and it will melt the wax and melt the paper into the wax. Wala! Cute Christmas Tea Lights! :)
The box is your choice of paper. It's a little more complicated and has a lot more detail to it. So if you are interested just ask and I will tell you how it's done. I made it using Stamp it Up.
The Calendar was pretty simple also. Get some cardboard and round the edges when you cut it to the size you want. Choose some cute paper and use stick glue to stick it to the cardboard. And choose a different colored paper for the inside. Get one of the foam nail files to file out the edges if they're too long or the edges aren't round enough. Get a hole punch and punch two holes on both of the cardboard and the little metal things are from a stamp it up kit. Stick them through the holes and put your choice of ribbon through them. Then put a small square paper of your choice in the center and put the calendar on top of it. Pretty simple and they're so cute!

Dallas and I went with our friends to Temple Square to see the lights over the weekend. It was so fun and we got some cute pictures :)
He's very mature :)

This isn't the best picture of us. But the background is so pretty. :)

I think I'm getting better at updating things. :). I just wish more people read this and commented on it lol. But I'm not givin up!

I love Dallas :). Just thought I'd throw that out there ;)

So far...

I am HORRIBLE at updating this thing....I know. But, I'm trying my best! haha. Well I had my birthday on the 12th! BIG 21! Woop Woop! I was EXTREMELY spoiled on that day! Dallas got me a massage to start with and it was marvelous! I really really needed it. Then I went to lunch with my Mom-in-law to some pizza, pasta, salad place and it was delicious! I got Fettuccine Alfredo! Mmmm! Then I just came home and chilled for a little while I waited for the hubby to get home. When Dallas got home I opened some presents from him, which consisted of, black boots, Couples Retreat, a new blowdryer, some sweet skinny jeans, and of course I had my massage earlier that day. Then we went to the ever so delicious Rodizio Grill with my awesome aunt and uncle Kim and Chris. It was soo sweet! At Rodizio there are a bunch of waiters walking around with big skewers of meat and they just keep bringing it to your table until you put this little red thing up to have them stop and there's a delicious salad bar! Mmm! I tried some rattlesnake and a chicken heart! It was interesting and soo so fun and delicious! Then the next night we had a little birthday party with some of our friends. It was so fun! My husband did such a good job! I felt so spoiled! I love him so much! :)

Last week we went to Texas for Thanksgiving! It was soo great to see my family! I get to see them about once or twice a year because they live so far away. It was a much needed vacation. My mom makes the most delicious Thanksgiving dinner! She makes everything from scratch and it all just melts in your mouth! Dallas about died because it was so good. One of her famous dishes are her candied yams which she makes with sweet potatoes instead of yams and she puts this amazing glaze over them. Oh my gosh, it literally tastes like candy. It's so so good. We went and saw Harry Potter 7 after dinner, this was mine and Dal's second time around. And of course it was just as good! :). My mom had to leave for Arizona the next morning for a funeral :(. But we got to spend some time with my dad. We went to Cheddars, which is Dallas's favorite place, and then after we went to Santa Land. Santa Land is in the woods and it's basically just a bunch of really cool lights. Dallas totally loved it. We went shopping for black friday that morning because we needed to get presents since we were celebrating Christmas with my family on Monday. It was pure Madness. Sunday night Dallas, my brother, and I went and played apples to apples and what if with some of my friends from the ward and that was so fun. It was great to be reunited again. Monday my mom flew back and we went to Mercadoes, my favorite restaurant EVER, it has homemade tortillas and tortilla chips and salsa that you get for free at the first. So, so good. Then we celebrated Christmas with my family. My parents got Dallas and I a picture book filled with wedding pictures and quotes and it was so sweet. :). Unfortunately, I only got to see my mom for a few days but we're driving to Arizona this summer because my parents will be there to visit my extended family.

As some of you may know, my sweet Aunt Candace passed away on Monday the 22nd of November. She was one of my absolute best friends and I love her so much. My cousin Lauren had her baptism on Saturday the 20th and my Aunt Candace and her boyfriend went to her apartment. My aunt went to take a nap on the couch while her boyfriend took a nap in her room. A couple of hours later her boyfriend, Joe, woke up and went to do the dishes for her. When he had finished he went to check on Candace because he was confused as to why the noise he was making didn't wake her up. He kept trying to wake her up but Candace wouldn't open her eyes. Joe called my Grandma and she told him to quickly hang up the phone and call 911. Once the paramedics arrived they pronounced Candace dead at the scene. But because of her age, 32, they were required to do everything again so they tried to start her heart. After 40 minutes they got it to start beating again. They were worried about the amount of brain damage she might have because of the amount of time her brain may have gone without oxygen so they life flighted her to the heart hospital. They put her on life support and put her body into hypothermia which would prevent anymore brain damage if her brain was still functioning. On Monday they took her out of the hypothermia and did some tests and she had no brain activity what so ever so my family had to take her off of life support. Candace dealt with many physical and emotional struggles in her life. She was born with her legs folded against her chest and clubbed feet. She had other complications and the doctors told my grandparents to take Candace home and love her because they wouldn't have long with her and if she lived she would never be able to walk. My grandpa stood up and said, "That is not your decision to make, do not underestimate her." Candace had casts put on her legs and she pulled herself up one day on a plastic shopping cart and taught herself how to walk. Once she learned without the cart Candace no longer walked to where she wanted to go, she ran. Everywhere. At the age of 10 Candace was diagnosed with cancer, one that very rarely any child survives, but Candace was determined and she fought hard! There is a precious picture of Candace and I when I was a baby. She was bald from cancer and I was bald because I was a baby. We were both wearing cute red outfits and adorable red bows on our bald heads. It's my absolute favorite picture in the entire world. Candace, of course survived the cancer and continued to live her life. Candace always beat the odds. She was a fighter, she was determined, she was so special. Candace always had a loving, caring heart. She loved her family and was always determined to keep them close no matter what. Not a day went by where I didn't get a phone call, or a text message. And now my life feels empty without it. I am going to miss hearing or seeing "Hi Sweetheart" every day. I am at peace with the fact that Candace is no longer in pain. Her body was a burden to her and now "She is in heaven dancing around with her perfect legs", Julie Lowder. Candace you will be dearly missed. You brought light to everyones life around you. I am going to miss your beautiful smile and positive attitude and your pure love for life. I love you

The Hunt May Be OVER!!

So Dallas and I have been on the hunt for apartments for about 2 months now! We've been living with the in-laws for about 3 weeks because our FABULOUS landlords from our previous apartment said we needed to move out in 30 days so that their brother/brother-in-law could move in. It was a great experience!.... haha.

Although, our in-laws are great and we are so grateful to them for allowing us to live here for the time that we've needed to find a place, it's time that we get back on our own.

It's been VERY frustrating trying to find places to live. We've looked to basement apartments with included utilities and that narrowed down our search way too much. They hardly exist anymore and maybe like one out in the great state of Utah allows pets. We got very lucky with our previous place. So we decided to give up on that and to just search apartment complexes with most utilities included. We found a couple of places but there are the great fees of parking, pet rent, getting a router, cable, and the police and fireman tax. So it makes them waayyy more expensive then what they say at the start. So that's been very trying for us. We're pretty much over it. We found a place we really liked and that would work for us because it includes cable, parking, and there's no pet rent! Buuut..there weren't any one bedrooms available. But I checked on their site today and miraculously one opened up!!! So, we're sending in the applications today and going to pray SUPER hard tonight that we get it. It's in a great location! Very private, close to work, close enough yet, far enough from the family, and it's in an elite area. So, we're really excited and really hoping to get it! So keep us in your prayers and maybe just keep an eye our for open places for the hopefully rare possibility that we won't get this one. Here's some pictures of it. :)

YES!

I love this because the vanity is outside so I can do my hair while Dal takes a shower! :)

Dining room (I like the accent wall idea..maybe I'll do mine like a darkish yellow)

Bedroom

Nice, spacious living room! :) (Red accent wall?)

Thanks to everyone for the support during this time. It's been frustrating but it has brought Dallas and I closer in ways that I wouldn't have imagined! I'm so grateful to my friends, family, and most importantly my wonderful, perfect, loving husband!

GOOD BYE!

Ok I know I've cried wolf about this a few times....but my facebook is now officially gone. It's true. I had Dallas change the password to something I don't know because, yes, I am so horribly addicted I can't just do it myself haha. But it's gone. At least until I can get some things figured out. It's too much of a distraction and I need to get some things accomplished.

So, sad day I know. But you can keep up with me on here! I'll try to update this as much as I can. I've never been good with journals so I'm not so good with a blog! haha!

So here's what is going on..

Hey everyone! So not much really going on in our lives. Dallas started school last week! It will be his last semester at UVU and then he will get his bachelors and transfer to University of Utah to start school for Physical Therapy! Yes, we're going to have another physical therapist in the fam! So that'll be sweet! Especially since I constantly need a PT with my horrible back and neck problems..UGH!

Work with me is going pretty well. My boss can be quite a handful to deal with but you gotta let it roll off your shoulders. Especially since he's been in the business for over 30 years...and I have been in it for 3 months haha. But I'm learning a lot and I really enjoy it as long as he's not talking to me ;) haha.

Dallas and I have decided to go on the dog whisperer because we have lost complete control of our dog Koda. He is satan! lol. He eats everything and he bites us all the time. He's like and unruly two year old child. It's ridiculous. So we will be sending a video to the Dog Whisperer pretty soon haha.

New Car!

I bought a new car! We sold the Mazda. It was time, the ac was out and the clutch was slipping so we sold it to Dallas's uncle and they took care of the repairs! Now I have an adorable black VW Beetle! It has a sunroof and leather interior. It's got marvelous AC and seat warmers. It's a 2000 and I LOVE it! It's so fun to drive cause it has a turbo engine. Of course we'll have to trade it in for an SUV when we have childrens but we won't be having them for a couple of years...at least that's our plan! So here's some pictures!

Update on Amanda

Amanda ended up having 4 surgeries and was in an induced coma to heal. She had a fever of over 100. They took her off of dialysis and on Monday morning they took her out of the coma! :). She still has a breathing tube down her throat and she's still critical. But they're removing the breathing tube today which is great! The Willinghams/Lloyds are so thankful for all of the prayers and the blood donated to help Amanda. She's on the road to recovery. She's a fighter! Thank you everyone! :)

Amanda Lloyd

My best friends sister Amanda, who is also my dear friend, just had a baby boy on Monday named Rhett Lloyd. She had a c-section because both her and the baby were in distress due to Amanda having fatty liver pregnancy. Rhett swallowed some fluids and went to the nicu to be monitored due to high fevers. Amanda was sent to the ICU because her kidneys and liver weren't functioning properly and they were preparing to put her on dialysis. A tube had to be put down her throat because she was only breathing 10% on her own. The next day (today) she had two surgeries to remove fluid build up and her gallbladder and appendix. She is in critical condition right now and we're all hoping for the best. Right now her family is asking for blood donations in her name. She is O+ and even if your not that blood type she can still get credits. Please donate at Carter Blood Center. And please please pray for her. Rhett is very healthy now and doing well. Now we're just waiting for Amanda to make a full recovery. We'll be having a special fast and prayer for her tomorrow. So please participate.

4th of Juuuly!

We had a great 4th of July! We went to a parade on Saturday morning and had a scrumptious Mcdonalds breakfast! Nothin better. Then we packed up our things and went to the great BEAR LAKE!! We just set up camp when we got there...we didn't go out on the boat because it was a little chilly. Sunday we went over to Dal's aunt and uncles cabin(sorry mansion) for his uncles birthday. We ate some cake and shot off some fireworks and I got attacked by a bat...it was marvelous. We attempted to go to an awesome cave but we got there at closing time and they were done so that was a bummer. Monday we went out on the boat. The water was FREEZING cold...but yet it was still way fun. Unfortunately my camera died over the weekend so I didn't get any pictures :-/. Buuuutttt, we're going back on the 24th so I will make up for it! :). But here are some pics of the parade.

It was a little early for me but hey...it's the 4th :)

Koda seems to be enjoying himself :)

Dallas and I had the pleasure of going to a backstreet boys concert! It was a blast!! We were basically reliving our childhood :)
